Pics by Eddie Holmes,another "Floater"

Eddie (Edmund) Stoney, who lives in the Bury area has just had his 90th birthday and Sam Cohan is 92. They both sailed to India in 1938 on The Lancashire. Both served on The North West Frontier, Quetta in what then was called British Balushistan. Sam however became an armourer and subsequently left the regiment on the formation of The REME. Eddie remained with the Bn and went into Burma with the Bn as part of the 2nd Chindits where he was wounded.
