EULOGY
for
Robert (Bob) Wolstenholme

My Father was born in Salford in 1919 and joined the 7th Battalion TA in 1937.
Service number 2038831. In 1939 he was on duty and took the call informing the outbreak of
World War 2.
The battalion converted to an Artillery unit and Dad assumed the rank of Gunner. Serving throughout the war as a spotter in 39(LF) SL Regt Royal Artillery. At the conclusion WW2 Dad remained in the Army and was posted to Palestine, significant events in the history of the LF's including the loss friends and colleagues were etched on Dad's memory. In 1947/8 Dad was demobbed.
