This was taken in Vienna on the 1st March 1947, and on the 17th March the Battalion Cadre party carrying the Colours left Vienna for Bury and into suspended animation, so it is likely to be the last pic of the wartime 2nd Bn.

My name is Trevor Bayes,

I was going through some old photographs recently of my father who was in
the Northamptonshire Regiment and served with the 78th Division in Italy in
1944/45.

One of the photographs shows a number of officers in uniform and was
obviously taken in 1945. On the back it has the following. "In memory of
Dizzy (I think that is the word) Snelling of Lancs Fus. Killed in Action
April 1945.

Also of Jack Buckley Wounded in Action May 1945. "Two of the Best""

I am not sure whether the second one is also from the Lancashire Fusiliers.
I am also not sure who the others are or which two on the photograph the
text refers to.

The Jack Buckley memtioned in photo is on the photo above theses two
